GaggiMate is a smart upgrade kit that adds precision control, smart automation, and advanced features to compatible Gaggia, Rancilio Silvia and Gaggia-style espresso machines. It includes features like temperature control, pressure profiling, brew timers, and HomeKit integration, incredibly similar to the cutting edge tech found in the Decent DE1PRO costing £3000 plus.  The Gaggiamate also connects to bluetooth scales allowing shots to be automatically stopped once the desired weight has been reached.

The Gaggia Classic E24 and the Rancilio Silvia have professional commercial quality components and adding the sophisticated engine of the gaggimate allows users to achieve barista-quality coffee at home not seen in most home machines, including many of the E61 type machines costing far more.

The Gaggimate pro offers the ability to create and share pressure profiles and these are stored in both the Gaggimate and also the web interface.  Profiles can be created using the web interface very easily and transferred into the machine.

Espresso is very exacting: your brew temperature and pressure have to be nearly perfect. Off by a few degrees and your drink will be acceptable, but not great. The Gaggimate (and the Shadesofcoffee kit) solve this with their digital temperature control (PID) and the automated pressure control (Gaggimate pro).  

This need for precision is why most coffee shops make so-so espresso drinks. Even good coffee shops are often inconsistent. Well-performing professional machines are expensive and demand great skill. With most home machines, you don't stand a chance of making a decent espresso. The Gaggimate changes that.
